José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s 'The Nutcracker' Children’s Auditions

Join José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s 36th annual production of The Nutcracker this holiday season! JMBT welcomes dancers of all backgrounds to audition for the children’s roles for the upcoming Nutcracker season. Auditions are open to all young dancers ages 6-18. No dance experience required for the youngest roles. Performances will be from December 6-22, 2024 at The Strand Theatre in Dorchester, MA. Free auditions for ages 6-18 No dance experience required for the youngest roles! Dance for World Community

Dance for World Community Festival is a dance festival that traditionally brings together dance artists, activists and enthusiasts to celebrate and raise awareness about the local and global issues that matter most to the entire community. This year's festival will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 12-6pm on Massachusetts Avenue between Bow Street and Putnam Avenue. The indoor/outdoor event will include five performance stages with various dance forms presented by over 60 dance groups, free introductory-level dance classes, and exhibitors along “Advocacy Way” on Massachusetts Avenue between Bow Street and Putnam Avenue. The event is free entry for all and as the largest dance event in the area, it draws an estimated 20,000 attendees.
