Kantika album release

Join us for the hotly anticipated release of Kantika, the new Ladino album from Tutti Druyan, Shaqed Druyan, and Edmar Colón. Kantika, which means “song” in the old language of Ladino (Judeo-Spanish), is a musical project that contains hypnotizing melodies, captivating soundscapes, and powerful lyrics. Kantika brings together traditional Sephardic songs with newly composed music and lyrics in English, creating a seamless blend between the two languages to complement one another both in the music and in the text. This unique project conjures a powerful bond between the old and the new. By abstracting aesthetics from different musical genres and putting this endangered language in the forefront, Kantika promises to be an exciting connection between music and the hope of the preservation of language. Kantika is supported by a grant from the Combined Jewish Philanthropies Arts and Culture Community Impact Grant Fund and Live Arts Boston.

Welcome to the second annual Somerville Chanukah Party! This year, we are delighted to present, for the first time in history, as far as we can tell, a complete live concert performance of the best Chanukah album ever recorded: "The Moishe Oysher Chanukah Party." Featuring a klezmer orchestra drawn from the top klezmer bands in the world and an all star cast of vocalists standing in for the great cantor. If you've never heard "The Moishe Oysher Chanukah Party" before, now is literally your only chance.  Friends, it isn't even on Spotify. But wait, there's so much more!<ul><li>An opening performance by Rachel Linsky dancers</li><li>Classic Chanukah songs with Tutti Druyan</li><li>Yiddish dancing with Ezekiel's Wheels Klezmer Band and friends</li><li>The ultimate DJ set with Chaia and Kleztronica!</li></ul>This is not one to be missed. Join the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music and all of your friends to dance the night away and celebrate Chanukah (Hanukkah, Janucá, Khanike...) the best way we know how: with music, dancing, and joy.
